We've had a lot of reactions on the report. Most have been very positive. Thanks all. Keep sending comments.
Most recently, John D. Smith of LearningAlliances.net wrote about Bowling Together on the
com-prac mailinglist:
It brings out a host of issues that I'd never really thought about regarding e-democracy and it discusses a lot of things that I think would interest people on this list.... One of many gems: on p 17 they suggest that a key skill of a community of practice facilitator is the "ability to facilitate facilitative behaviors within the community." Put that in your job description. :-)
Earlier this summer, I brought John to Copenhagen to do a seminar together with Etienne Wenger and Nancy White. It was great, and has for example resulted in a group of the participants now starting a Danish community of practice about e-democracy.
John D Smith and Etienne Wenger runs a highly recommended
online workshop about communities of practice. It starts Sept 30.
Speaking of online workshops, don't miss Hansard Society's
E-Democracy Coordinators Training Course , starting on September 20.
